Awakening Together: What Are People Saying?

It is probable that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community, a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the survival of the earth.

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Awakening Together…

Brooklyn Sangha in the Tree

” …is something that speaks of Sangha,
the beloved community when we come together
and share our joys & sorrows.
We awaken as one, together.
It also is broad enough to invite people to come as they are, with what is present, as this will be held in community”

Awakening Together…

is to truly awaken collectively,

practice mindful thought and action

that has deeper impact in the present,

we need to *remember*

our ancestors’ presence and guidance

in this journey.

And ancestors can be from blood and chosen

Walking with the Buddhas
Awakening Together…

…is gaining insight into a reality that one may not be previously
conscious of. And “Awakening together” makes me think that this will
be a joint community effort, so there is no room for “feeling separate”
but rather “we’re on this together” type of ride.

Thank you to those who have offered these reflections above. “Awakening Together…what comes alive in you when you hear this? What shapes, sounds, colors, taste does it take in your own life? Do share with us in words, music, pictures, painting, dancing…anything really…so as to inspire each other on this journey that we walk together…

Our world needs just such a community. Would that it will be so.

Awakening is being mindful of the practice and sharing it with others to decrease suffering. It’s the 3 jewels which I take my time and make time to learn the Dharma, remember the Buddha, singing the mantras and to remember the community! I also remember to treat all life as a connection to my life! My heart, prayers go out to Thay and all sanghas! MITAKUYE oyasin
